How to make lip balms at home?

You need 3 basic ingredients for making your own basic lip balms,

  1. Beeswax
  2. Any organic butters (like Shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, kokum butter, etc.
  3. Your preferred oils

And, this is optional but you can add your preferred essential oils for the fragrance.

Here, to make tinted one we will be needing one more ingredient which is any natural colorant.

1. Rose lip balm:

To make Rose lip balm the natural colourant we require is rose powder.

Just take few rose petals and dry them in sunlight. When the moisture in petals evaporates completely grind them in a fine powder using a mortar and pestle.

Now, in a heat resistant glass bowl add;

1 tsp Rose Infused oil

1 tsp raw organic Shea butter

1 tsp organic Beeswax

And melt them using a double boiler method.

Once all the butters and oils and wax melts completely put them aside for some time to cool down. (*Don’t keep it for long otherwise the mixture will start to solidify.)

Add 3 drops of Vitamin E

3 to 4 drops of Rose essential oil

and stir well so that they get properly mixed.

In the end,

add 1 tsp of Rose powder and stir until the powder gets dissolved in the mixture.

Pour this mixture in a clean, well-stirilised Lip balm container and put it aside until it cools down completely.

Voila, our beautiful rose lip balm is ready.

Apply on your lips to get that natural rosy lips to look. You can also apply it on your eyelids and cheeks to get the natural pinkish glow.

The best part about lip balms is  that they can last for a long time without any preservatives or at any room temperature as none of the ingredients used in lip balms have water in it.

Did I say they are long-lasting?

My lip balms last for almost 6 to 8 months.
