I don’t use market-based lip balms.

I have been making my own lip balms for a long time with all organic ingredients.

Believe me, it is super easy and quick to make. You just need a few basic ingredients.

In this article, I am going to share my method to make organic tinted lip balms for a regular use.

Just apply your BB cream and this lip balms for that amazing tint on your lips, the best part is that it’s all-natural.

You can also use them as cheek tints and eye shadow to give a natural look.

I can assure you these lip balms are better than the ones available in the market plus you can customise your own as per your choice of ingredients and fragrances.

How to make lip balms at home?

You need 3 basic ingredients for making your own basic lip balms,

  1. Beeswax
  2. Any organic butters (like Shea butter, cocoa butter, mango butter, kokum butter,etc.
  3. Your preferred oils

And, this is optional but you can add your preferred essential oils for the fragrance.

Here, to make tinted one we will be needing one more ingredient which is any natural colorant.

1. Rose lip balm:

To make Rose lip balm the natural colourant we require is rose powder.

Just take few rose petals and dry them in sunlight. When the moisture in petals evaporates completely grind them in a fine powder using a mortar and pestle.

Now, in a heat resistant glass bowl add;

1 tsp Rose Infused oil

1 tsp raw organic Shea butter

1 tsp organic Beeswax

And melt them using a double boiler method.

Once all the butters and oils and wax melts completely put them aside for some time to cool down. (*Don’t keep it for long otherwise the mixture will start to solidify.)

Add 3 drops of Vitamin E

3 to 4 drops of Rose essential oil

and stir well so that they get properly mixed.

In the end,

add 1 tsp of Rose powder and stir until the powder gets dissolved in the mixture.

Pour this mixture in a clean, well-stirilised Lip balm container and put it aside until it cools down completely.

Voila, our beautiful rose lip balm is ready.

Apply on your lips to get that natural rosy lips to look. You can also apply it on your eyelids and cheeks to get the natural pinkish glow.

2. Chocolate lip balm:

To make Chocolate lip balm the ingredients we need are;

1 tsp raw Cocoa butter

1/2 tsp raw Shea butter

1 tsp Beeswax

1 tsp cold-pressed Coconut oil

Melt by double boiler method.

Once melted turn off the heat and add;

1 Vitamin E capsule

3-4 drops of Geranium essential oil and stir well

Add 1 tsp cocoa powder and stir until completely dissolved.

Pour in an empty lip balm container and place it aside until completely solid.

3. Beetroot lip balm

To make Beetroot lip balm the ingredients we need are;

1 tsp cold-pressed Almond oil

1/2 tsp raw Shea butter

1 tsp Beeswax

1/4 tsp raw Castor oil

Melt by double boiler method.

Once melted turn off the heat and add;

3-4 drops of Lavender essential oil and stir well

Add 1 tsp Beetroot powder and stir until completely dissolved.

Pour in an empty lip balm container and place it aside until completely solid.

4. Sumac berry lip balm:

To make Sumac berry lip balm the ingredients we need are;

1 tsp Extra virgin Olive oil

1/2 tsp raw Mango butter

1/2 tsp raw Shea butter

1 tsp Beeswax

1/4 tsp raw Castor oil

Melt by double boiler method.

Once melted turn off the heat and add;

3-4 drops of Orange essential oil and stir well

Add 1 tsp Sumac berry powder and stir until completely dissolved.

You can play with your own choices of ingredients and create different types of lip balms.

As colourants, you can use any plant-based organic powders or naturals colours.

The best part about lip balms is  that they can last for a long time without any preservatives or at any room temperature as none of the ingredients used in lip balms have water in it.

Did I say they are long-lasting?

My lip balms last for almost 6 to 8 months.

Do make your batch and tell me about it in the comment section.
