Seeds Balls Recipe – High Protein Food For Daily Consumption

Do you know seeds are superfoods and they are high in many essential vitamins, minerals and antioxidants?

As recommended by my nutritionist, everyone should have at least 1 to 2 tbsp of these seeds a day to boost immunity as well as be healthy and beautiful.

Seeds not only make us stronger from the inside but also help with maintaining glowing skin and strong shiny hair.

In this article, I am going to show you my recipe of making seeds balls or rather you can call them energy balls.

These seed balls will not only give you an instant energy dose but also will provide all essential nutrients.

They are calorie-dense but one seed ball a day will fulfil most of your daily quota of vitamins and minerals.

As the name suggests we will be needing a few seeds such as;

Pumpkin seeds

Rich in proteins, fiber, omega 6 fatty acids, manganese, magnesium, phosphorus, vitamin K, Iron, copper and zinc. They are also loaded with antioxidants.

Sunflower seeds

They are rich in healthy fats, proteins, fiber, vitamin B6, folate, niacin, Iron, magnesium, zinc, copper, manganese and zinc. These seeds are high in vitamin E and selenium.

Watermelon seeds

Watermelon seeds are low in calories but high in proteins, magnesium, iron, Zinc and healthy fats

Flax seeds

Flax seeds are rich with fiber content making them ideal for fat loss. They are also rich in omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids giving them a status of vegetarian fish! They are also a good source of proteins and healthy fats.

Sesame seeds

Sesame seeds are loaded with B-vitamins which are excellent for ur hair, skin and overall health. They are rich in fibre, healthy fats, protein, calcium, Iron, Phosphorous, copper and zinc.

Chia seeds

Chia seeds are rich in fibre, protein, and healthy fats as well as minerals such as calcium, manganese, magnesium, potassium and Zinc.

Charoli/chironji seeds

Charoli seeds are considered an alternative of almonds. They are rich in proteins, B-vitamins and vitamin C. They are a good source of dietary fibres, Iron, calcium and phosphorous.

And other ingredients we will be required are;

Almonds 

Black and brown Raisins

They are packed with energy and fibres.

They help boost our Iron level.

They contain a good amount of minerals such as calcium and boron.

Jaggery/gud 

Jaggery is an excellent sweetener option.

It is loaded with antioxidants, zinc, selenium and Iron.

It activates the digestive enzymes in our body which makes digestion easy.

It is a great detoxifier for the liver.

Clarified butter or Cow ghee

Clarified butter is a great natural antioxidant.

It improves the absorption ability and provides an excellent base for fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K).

Keeps our hair and skin healthy and shiny.

It well lubricates the joints, boosts immunity and promotes healthy gut health.

The medium-chain triglycerides (MCT’s) in ‘ghee’ boosts fat loss by metabolizing stubborn body fat.

Ginger powder 

Ginger powder helps with the weight loss process.

Adds flavor to our seeds balls and

Boosts immunity.

Cinnamon powder

Cinnamon has antiviral, anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties.

It is a great prebiotic which improves digestion and our gut health.

Now that we have talked about all the ingredients and their importance, let’s start making…

First, mix pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds and watermelon seeds in equal portions which should be around 2 cups in total and dry roast them.

Take a nonstick pan and let it get warm. Add 2 cups of mix seeds and dry roast them for about 2-3 minutes. Stir continuously.

Take out the seeds and let them cool down.

Meanwhile, In the same pan add 1/4 cup of each flax seed and sesame seeds and dry roast them until fragrant.

Take them out and let them also cool down.

Add all these seeds into a mixer grinder along with,

  • 2 tsp charoli seeds,
  • 10-12 almonds,
  • 15-15 each brown and black raisins,

and grind them into a coarse powder like this.

Take out the seeds powder in another container.

Now, in the same pan add 1/4 cup of clarified butter and let it get warm.

Add 1/4 cup jaggery and let it melt.

Once melted add 1/2 tsp of each, ginger powder and cinnamon powder and mix them well.

Add the seeds powder along with 2 tbsp chia seeds into this and stir continuously for 4-5 minutes.

The final consistency should be something like this.

Switch off the flame and let the mixture cool down a bit.

Once it is sufficiently cooled down, you can hold it in your hands, grease your palms with coconut oil and take a fistful of this mixture and make small balls like this.

You can refrigerate them for like half an hour too which will make them harder.

Total Calories – 3080

Number of seeds balls – 30

1 ball = 100 to 150 calories
